H.A.R.D. was honored and privledged to be able to participate once again in South TX. Surfrider Foundation Surf Camp for the disabled. Seventeen campers learned how to surf with the aid of experienced surfers and a team to support them along the way, the result sheer happiness for everyone involved. World SALTworld Day April 26th, 2016
HARD recently participated in World SALTworld Day, hosted by SALTworld, Inc. League members performed random acts of kindness around our community. Examples: Rosen Rot and Lethal Destruction delivering cheese & fruit platters to a local fire station, and Prisacuter and D-Lux handing out water to people traversing the sea wall. It was fun, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with SALTworld, Inc!
YM Spring Teen Leadership Camp (YWCA) March 15, 2016
Once again, HARD was proud to be invited back to participate in the YWCA of Corpus Christi Teen Leadership Camp. Participants learned about skater safety, teamwork, motivation, and lots of other things about what makes a derby girl tick! The skaters really enjoyed themselves, too, as an important part of our mission is to spread female empowerment in our community. Participants took personal and group photos with the skaters and each received an autographed team poster.
Break the Norm Family Fun Fair March 5, 2016
This season HARD has joined forces with the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation’s safety campaign to spread awareness for pedestrian/skater safety in our community. As part of this effort, HARD recently participated in this year’s 10th Annual Break the Norm Family Fun Fair. We were happy to have the opportunity to meet more of the wonderful people in our community as well as get over 300 signatures for the safety campaign!
YM Teen Summer Leadership Camp (YWCA) Aug 16, 2015
HARD was invited back to close the YWCA of Corpus Christi Teen Leadership Camp. We enjoyed the privilege of talking with the young ladies about self-esteem, body image, respect, and diligence in everything you pursue in life. Everyone involved had a wonderful time and enjoyed each others company. At the end the camp participants got tickets to the upcoming bout and a signed team poster.
Surf Camp for the Disabled June 28-29
HARD had the privilege of volunteering at the Surfrider Foundation TX. Coastal Bend‘s 16th Annual Surf Camp for the Disabled. This event is amazing and inspiring to all. We are honored to help this organization and relish in the knowledge, knowing we have a super organization like the Coastal Bend Surfrider Foundation in our city. HARD is already looking forward to next year’s event.
YM Teen Summer Leadership Camp (YWCA) June 18, 2015
HARD skaters were invited speakers by the YWCA of Corpus Christi to visit with 5th and 6th graders and talk about self-esteem, body image, self-respect, cultural diversity, and peer Pressure. The skaters also got a chance to talk about working as a team and how the confidence, courage and team work are all important aspects of roller derby.

March of Dimes Walk for Babies May 2015
The ladies of HARD ladies were honored to participate once again in the MARCH OF DIMES Walk for Babies event. We got to catch up with Little William (who we walked for last year) and this year we walked for Pearl Snap’s little one.
Relay for Life April 2015
HARD was invited to help our the Flour Bluff High School Relay for LIfe team, which took place Friday, April 17-18, 2015. The Relay for life event raised much needed funds and awareness to save life from cancer. Despite the thunderstorm moving the event inside, the event was a complete success, and HARD is honored to have been apart of it.
Marriage Equality Walk April 2015
HARD Ladies participated in the Amor Prohibido Walk held on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Even little league members were out to support equality.
Music For Michael March 2015 !
HARD had the grand privileged of being invited to participate in the MUSIC for MICHAEL event on March 25, 2015.
Michael Vaughan a 16 year old young man with stage 4 Sarcoma. He receives treatment at MD Anderson; he is in further need of treatment to continue fighting this disease. HARD was honored to attend and support MUSIC for MICHAEL event to raise the needed funds so Michael can get a PETscan to continue his treatment.
